Our Story
Cafe Tenby is a modern teashop and cafe owned and operated by Kelley Winchester and Andrew Griffiths. Their first venture together was a cafe and coffee shop in Northwest Portland. Together Kelley and Andrew have many years of experience in the restaurant and baking industry. Kelley started her training in 2001 at a bakery in Fort Collins, Colorado making bread and pastries. Andrew started his apprenticeship as a bread baker in Carrboro, North Carolina at the local coop in the mid nineties. They met in Portland in 2005.
In May of 2006, Kelley and Andrew drove to Port Townsend to explore the Olympic Peninsula for a long weekend. The seed was planted! Over the next fourteen years, the two would work in various bakeries and restaurants honing their baking and cooking skills. After owning and operating their successful cafe in Portland for eight and a half years, it was time to leave the bustling city. When Pippa’s Real Tea became available, they headed north again to join the wonderful community that is Port Townsend.
